How to know what belt size to order

The best way to know what belt size to order, is to measure a belt you (or the person it’s for) uses. There are different ways to measure a belt, so I have shown a few photographs below to help you..

Measure from the inside of the far end of the buckle to the hole used the most. This measurement becomes the middle hole in my, Made to Measure, Oakwood Burn belts or fits within the range of My Classic belts.

Keep the tape measure straight. Don’t worry about the curved shape of the belt you’re measuring. This is totally natural as a belt moulds around the body as it’s used.

If you have any further questions about belt measurements or anything else please get in touch.

Note: I used to use clothes sizes and add a couple of inches to allow for thickness of clothes and leather. I have increasing found that some shops size their clothes differently, so it’s best to measure a belt that is being used.

My Oakwood Burn and Classic belts are both made from top grain British oak tanned leather. They are all hand-stitched by myself in my workshop in the Scottish Borders. If you would like to find out more about this quality leather check out Quality British Belt Leather.
